Shivharsh Kisan Post Graduate College, from its very inception, had a vision of inculcating a culture of knowledge and learning in Higher Education. The founder of the college Pt. Shivharsh Upadhyay, established this college, keeping in mind the needs of the students of the area. Shivharsh Kisan Post Graduate College attempts to provide quality teaching in higher education to this rural and economically underprivileged surrounding. The institution has a vision of imparting value-based education along with producing the employable human resource. The institution aims at serving the society, and in turn, the nation by promoting knowledge, patriotism along with social and moral responsibility.
Shivharsh Kisan Post Graduate College is situated in a socially and economically backward area of Purvanchal. Basti is one of the oldest districts of the state. But at the time of the establishment of the college, the place had no access to higher education at all. Under these circumstances, this college was established in the year 1959. The pragmatic aim of the college was to impart higher education to the students after completion of education at intermediate level.
