The college library was established in 1959, along with the initiation of the college. Initially, it started functioning from a hall of Kisan Educational Society, Basti, in the guidance of Uday Prasad Pandey, the first librarian of the college. After some years, the library was shifted in a hall of the department Defence and Strategic Studies, in the main building. The founder of the college Pt. Shiv Harsh Upadhyay and Sri Ram Krishna Mishra, the learned scholar and the first principal of the college, felt the exigence of a good library for imparting education to the students. Therefore, they tried their best to establish the library, with proper textbook and journals, related to various branches of knowledge. In the year 1995, the library was finally shifted to a building of its own. The new library block was built by the grant provided by the UGC. During this period, the post of the librarian was held by Shri Chandra Mohan Mishra, the second librarian of the college.
The library has an impressive collection of Text books, Reference books, Maps, CDs Journal of various National and International repute to fulfil the need of students and teachers both. The concept of digital library, virtual library, library automation etc. have become the need of time. Therefore, the library is under the processes of digitization.
At present, the library serves the students and teachers from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in all the working days, under the able guidance of Sri Viswanath Pandey, the Librarian. All the library staff is well qualified and user-friendly.
